I attended a wonderful event last Friday night and met some really great people, so I thought I would share it with you.
Montréal has so many amazing festivals in the summer that it’s easy to lose track. The Just for Laughs Festival just wound down and yesterday was the first day of The Festival of Mode & Design. Bringing Fashion and design to the masses, this is a four day long extravaganza mostly showcasing Canadian designers, but also including some well-known international brands.
I recently discovered the most adorable line of handmade soaps and other fabulous smelling bath and body products from Dot & Lil. Based and produced in Montréal, I met with aspiring soap empress Anne Dardick, and had to smell absolutely everything in the showroom! My senses were in heaven when Anne introduced me to what immediately became my favourite scent and one of her best-selling – satsuma.
It all started with my father. When it comes to clothing, especially men’s clothing, he made me understand at a very young age that quality far outweighs quantity. When I discovered the exclusive Sartorialto in Montréal’s Plateau by chance, I was so happy to find that the old world art of made to measure handmade suits was not lost.
Summer is definitely here and we girls have to be soooo careful! Worshipping the sun is something we can’t afford to do. It might feel great but at the end of the day, it’s not good for us and we know it! These days, however, there are other ways to look like we’ve been on vacation and well rested, without the damaging effects of the sun.
