After a Long Day of Shopping…Leméac!

Leméac 1045, avenue Laurier Ouest Tel: (514) 270-0999 - Ref: shopgirlmtl

After a day of shopping in this beautiful neighborhood you might be hungry and want a truly incredible French meal – try Leméac for dinner.

C’est cher but it’s worth it! I was there a few weeks ago and had a very memorable dining experience. For a 4 star restaurant there is a lot to choose from on the menu and the way they describe the food will make your mouth wate! Not to mention they have a truly impressive and extensive wine list.

The desserts are huge and it’s easy to eat a lot while you’re there – I know I did. Reservations are suggested and I suggest not eating on the day you go there just so there’s enough room to indulge!

Make Your Own Masterpiece: L’Atelier

We’ve all seen stores that sell beads where can make your own little “friendship” bracelets which are really cute, but L’Atelier is not like that at all. I discovered this really fun place to go and be creative with friends or in groups. Magali, a very talented artisan, has created a very serene environment where you can discover your inner artist and design great jewelry!

A Vintage Community: Citizen Vintage

Citizen Vintage

The other day I was in the very popular Citizen Vintage, chatting with one of the owners, Brooke Doyle. You can tell she and her partners absolutely live and love curating their collection. Because that’s what it is – a gallery of sorts that pays homage to decades gone by. So, I wasn’t surprised to find out that Brooke’s aesthetic comes from a background in Art History, and a lifelong personal passion for collecting vintage herself! What amazed and delighted me was the incredible merchandising of the store. When one thinks of “vintage” the image of tons upon tons of confusing racks comes to mind. Not the case in this extremely well organized boutique and also not surprising from a self-professed fellow neat freak like Brooke.

A Coffee Break…Pâtisserie de Gascogne

Pâtisserie de Gascogne 237, avenue Laurier Ouest Tel: (514) 490-0235 Ref: shopgirlmtl

If you want to stop for a break, Pâtisserie de Gascogne is a great place to rest your feet and treat yourself to un café et une petite gâterie. They also offer sandwiches, salads and fresh bread, but my eye went directly to the yummy array of pastries.  Quite the popular place, I noticed more than a few people leaving with cakes and baguettes!
