While shopping in Montréal, I am always on the lookout for places that are very special. I absolutely love antique jewelry, but I don’t like sorting through dirty trays and baskets. I was thrilled when I found Zofia Antiques because there were some real gems inside which were beautifully displayed.
I am constantly thrilled and excited to discover the creativity in this city! I was wandering in the bustling, up and coming quartier of Little Burgundy this past weekend, and I found some great stores and met some very innovative people!
The window of Surface Jalouse reminded me of an Art gallery. I was drawn to the graphic “Pop” Art images that I saw on a sofa, of all things. I absolutely had to go in and investigate further…
Wow – What a mind-blowing experience! For some time, I have received Massage Therapy at the Ovarium Spa and have found it very beneficial. The therapists are all certified, experienced and extremely busy. The spa has been in Montréal for thirty years, the last twelve at St-Denis & Beaubien in Rosemont. I couldn’t wait to try the other incredible treatments offered, after hearing about them from Anne, my massage therapist. I had such a great time that if you can’t actually take a vacation, I highly recommend coming here to get away! The combination of a massage and one or more of these advanced therapies is my idea of Heaven.
My husband kept telling me about a store that he passes on his way home from work every day. I had to check it out! I wasn’t sure what I would find, but I knew there was a reason I married him!
Niche Décor & Mode is an upscale consignment store, open for about a year now, located near the Atwater Market in St-Henri. For those of you who don’t know, a consignment store takes in only the best of their clients’ gently used clothing, accessories, shoes and furniture and pays you when they are sold.
Every time I go by Schwartz’s Deli, there is a lineup! So, I won’t suggest you go there if you’re in a rush, or to take a quick break from shopping in Le Plateau.
However, the queues of people standing outside, even in -30 degree weather, is obviously a testament to this renowned 80 year- old establishment. If you have the time and you love smoked meat, this is an experience not to be missed!
Suggestion: If you don’t want to lineup, try the off-hours: not lunch or dinner, but late afternoon in the week and later at night. Don’t eat it too lean – Yummy!
FYI: They even made a musical about Schwartz’s and it was recently purchased by Céline and René (Yes – that would be Dion and Angélil)!
