When I discovered Tiffany Elton and her boutique, Quartier Mode, I also found some other Montréal designers that I really liked, including Atelier B. I decided to drop in on the charming young women behind this label at their studio/ boutique, and they told me more about their”eco- philosophy” for urbanites.
Growing up, I was always fascinated watching my mother apply her makeup, especially her eyeliner. She is a beautiful woman, if I do say so myself, and has always used liquid eyeliner. I always thought she looked so very glamorous that I started out using it very early on, just by copying her.
Admiring the gorgeous home décor items at Mercer, reminded me of the sophisticated style you see in upscale and glamorous boutique hotels around the globe. The choice of name for this boutique is very apropos as the owner informed me that ‘”mercer” means textile merchant. The emphasis on fine fabrics is clearly the focus here.
As women, we work hard, we live, we love, and we play hard.
We will go to extreme lengths for Beauty, including plastic surgery, Botox, collagen injections, cheek, butt, breast implants, etc… and let’s not forget working out until we pass out. So… why are we so afraid of foundation?
Our good friend Magali, the go-to gal for everything cosmetic (except surgery, of course!) is going to help us overcome this fear. I went down to Holt Renfrew and we chatted while she showed me all kinds of terrific tips and dispelled certain myths. She also made some professional recommendations for all types of skin and different ages.
I could be the last to know about this great home décor boutique. That’s what you would have thought by the huge numbers of people that were in Beige when I dropped by!
