A Coffee Break…Pâtisserie de Gascogne

Pâtisserie de Gascogne 237, avenue Laurier Ouest Tel: (514) 490-0235 Ref: shopgirlmtl

If you want to stop for a break, Pâtisserie de Gascogne is a great place to rest your feet and treat yourself to un café et une petite gâterie. They also offer sandwiches, salads and fresh bread, but my eye went directly to the yummy array of pastries.  Quite the popular place, I noticed more than a few people leaving with cakes and baguettes!

A Décor Dream: Verte Campagne

I wandered into Verte Campagne and I thought I had stepped into the home décor store of my dreams.

I had. Although very high-end, this is the place to find so many of the exquisite pieces we see in magazine layouts and never know where to buy. There was such a mélange of artifacts I didn’t know where to look first but I knew I liked most of it immediately! They carry a truly international and ecclectic collection, including pieces from the U.S., Italy and France.

Puppy Love: Agatha Paris

You know those outfits that have been sitting in your closet but you just feel like there’s something missing? Worry no more! I found the greatest costume jewelry boutique where you’ll find that special necklace, bracelet, ring or earrings to bring your outfits to life.

Agatha Paris

Agatha Paris is a beautiful little gem I discovered on my travels. It’s a franchise from France and there is only one store in Montréal and one in Québec.

I fell in love with the chunky necklaces I saw,  especially the large intertwined chains which I can’t get enough of. The selection of cocktail rings is incroyable! A lot of the pieces are made from baked ceramics and there are also some beautiful large silver rings.

A Taste of France: Des Vertes et Des Pas Mûres

You know how some stores are so cluttered that you can’t find anything? Au contraire at Des Vertes et Des Pas Mûres. This medium to high-end boutique caught my eye and is organized so you can find exactly what you want. The loft-style space with wood floors and high ceilings displays exclusive lines from France and also has luxury basics such as Petit Bateau t-shirts and tanks.

Workout While You Shop: Yoga-à-Porter

Over the past few weeks I’ve been exploring the upscale and hip neighborhoods of Mile End and Outremont (boundaries are arguable).  I have  discovered some amazing places and met some wonderful people.

Yoga-à-Porter Boutique and Yoga Studio is a special place. This Yoganista’s Paradise is a very calming environment which is very different inside than what one might think. The name suggests Yoga activewear only but what they actually carry is so much more. The store’s philosophy is that you should be comfortable and Zen in everyday clothes while doing everyday things and not just while enjoying a Yoga or Pilates class. I couldn’t agree more!
