Montréal based boutique PR agency, Rev Communications, held a spectacular event last Wednesday at the W Hotel in the WOW penthouse suite. Rev FAVES was so much fun, it hardly felt like work. The room was chicly decorated by the stunning floral stylings of Luluthia, including the most incredible sushi roses I’ve ever seen. Chatting over mango martinis, filet mignon hors d’oeuvres, mini cupcakes, and listening to beats by international (and very cool) DJ Jovie J, I was privy to some fabulous new products.
The showcase featured exclusive beauty and lifestyle brands, revealing new lines and collections. Once again, I envisioned shopping trips and opening up my wallet! Here are my new “faves”:
Montréal’s own celebrity makeup guru, Mindy Shear, presented her luxurious line of user- friendly mineral products, Mindy Shear Mineral Make Up. Her powder foundation and Lip Tox lip gloss are truly amazing, and have kept me going this summer, free from breakouts – unbelievable in this heat! She unveiled her brand new website, www.mindyshear.com, still partly under construction, but you can already start shopping there NOW! So many “must-haves” and a vast, colorful array of items to peruse – check it out! (Read more about Mindy Shear and her mineral makeup here)
One of the most impressive new lines I’ve seen in a while was “mblm”, a division of Reitmans Canada. Finally – a stunning collection for the curvy gal! This line is rooted in denim culture and embodies an edgy, rock n’ roll chic; perfect for the urban woman who defies age and convention. Kudos to the genius of the marketing and design team who realized that this niche had to be stylized. Now, everyone will ask the cool plus size girl where she got her rockin’ new ankle booties! Love the studded purses, vests and accessories. The line will be available in September at Penningtons.
Well-known retailer, Melanie Lyne, unveiled some gorgeous new on-trend looks for Fall, including these green and cobalt blue tops. Absolutely brilliant dresses were à la mode but very practical, with built-in Spanx – incroyable! I’m crazy for their ultra-soft scarves, made of milk protein.
Up-and-coming tea emporium, Téh Bar, offered the perfect blend of scrumptious loose leaf teas and I saw the ideal hostess gift – a sampler full of their exotic blends. Also, what a great assortment of tea ware – I particularly loved the adorable teapots.
Over at Bath & Body Works, I sampled four types of delectable scents: romantic Sweet Pea; sexy Japanese Cherry Blossom; fresh White Citrus and warm Fresh Vanilla Sugar.
Their new potion, Forever Red, is an interesting mélange of pomegranate, red osmanthus, marshmallow, peach, and rum. Already on my wishlist (along with Sweet Pea), it is a sensual, signature scent for the empowered woman. Reasonably priced, but still more expensive than other Bath & Body Works fragrances, it’s definitely worth a try.
For those of you with kids, Hatley’s cuddly, super-fun, nature-inspired pajamas are just too cute, complete with delightful hats and boots.
Meanwhile, these precious, child-proofed hair accessories from Angel Lily will make your cherub the cutest little doll around.
If you dream of having the perfect head of curls, or waves, the new hair-styling tool from BaByliss PRO, distributed by Dannyco, makes it so easy! MiraCurl, a professional styling tool, comes with a built-in timer and different heat settings for your hair type, so there is nothing to figure out. Look at these amazing results:
Prila Jewelry makes unique custom fine jewelry by working closely with you to create designs based on your vision. Their pieces are terrific for those of us who like thick and chunky pieces.
Thanks to this wonderful event, I have great new gift ideas and my own personal wishlist just got so much bigger!
