When I first moved to Montréal I didn’t know anyone and I had my wedding to plan – a real dilemma! However, when I was referred to Lorena Rossi for my invitations, I felt as though I had made an instant friend. That’s the feeling you get when you walk into her cozy little boutique which is really an extension of her own welcoming and vivacious personality.
Located in Little Italy, Lorena designs beautiful wedding stationary and whatever your tastes, she can make your bridal vision a reality. If you are looking for the perfect hostess or thank you gift – this is the place! As for her products, she has carefully chosen the lines she carries to reflect her own excellent and ecclectic tastes. She began with bath & body products and it grew from there. Being a fellow product junkie and a sucker for packaging, this is a dangerous place for me to spend any length of time. In fact – I’ve never left here without a purchase in my hand!
Lorena carries several gorgeous smelling and looking product lines. One of my favorites, Lucia, is made by Pure Living right here in Québec. She recommends the No. 7, a.k.a. Sea Watercress and Chai Tea soap, spicy and a real treat for the senses. I like the No. 3, Tea Leaf and Wild Honey – the graphic wrapping alone would attract me. Also made by Pure Living is the Casa line with a slightly more classic looking wrapper but just as yummy smelling. Check out the soy candles!
My absolute favorite is Lollia, made in the U.S. It has oh-so-pretty floral designs and chic little crystals hang from the large candle. This and the bubble bath, made me want to run home and take a long luxurious soak in the tub. Love & Toast is also a very cute and flirty line of scents.
I don’t know how she does it! The mother of three children, Lorena runs her boutique, creates customized stationary and now she has created her very own line of kitchen products called Nonna. Available in lavender, lime, mandarine and almond, it was very important to her that the line be produced here in Québec. Try the hand cream, home fragrance, hand soap, aroma diffuser or even the cleaning spray. What an amazing job!
Apart from the dreamiest and most incroyable smelling products around, I spotted these very unique silk purses made in the U.K. Pas trop cher, these are a great choice for evening. Also of note, Lorena carries the funkiest bracelets from Italy and some very cool necklaces with terrific colored beads. I personally own one of each!
One of Lorena’s passions is clearly home décor. She has some very nice accessories such as velvet accent pillows, a few chandeliers and a striking picture featuring a series of doors – sure to add visual interest to any spot! I love the idea of Deuxième Début, a line that recycles furniture by recovering, re-painting or re-upholstering in fabrics that are très jolie. How fun to collect pieces with a story behind them!
I asked Lorena where she likes to shop and she mentioned high-street stores such as Zara and Forever 21, as well as loving to check out flea markets and antiques. For food, she recommends Jean Talon Market (my journey there coming soon!) and Milano, a specialty upscale food store also in Little Italy. She would love to add a Prada bag to her Wishlist and with her drive, it won’t be long before she gets it! (Read more about Lorena in Friends)
