We’ve all seen stores that sell beads where can make your own little “friendship” bracelets which are really cute, but L’Atelier is not like that at all. I discovered this really fun place to go and be creative with friends or in groups. Magali, a very talented artisan, has created a very serene environment where you can discover your inner artist and design great jewelry!
As I walked into this workspace, I saw beautifully handcrafted necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings and thought to myself, “I couldn’t make those!”, but that’s the whole point. First you choose from a wide and diverse selection of materials such as bright colorful beads, ribbons, chains, stones and even intricate metals. Then, you and your friends do a workshop with Magali. Even if you aren’t good with your hands, you will be when you leave!
There is even an entire bin of beads from Africa which are approved under the fair-trade agreement. The money from those particular beads are helping to build a school right now!
What a great thing to do with your kids to encourage creativity! Private workshops are booked by two-hour sessions and Magali often does events and children’s parties. I would have loved this when I was a kid – in fact I can’t wait to get the girls together and make some unique jewelry!
